After The Operation.
For two to three days after the operation, it is advisable to sleep with the head slightly elevated to reduce the risk swelling. The majority of the swelling and brusing will have settled within one week.
Showering the head and washing of hair should be left for a minimum of two days after the operation. Most patients can return to work within 10 days. Strenuous activity should be avoided for at least two weeks, however walking and gentle movement is fine.
The signs of surgery should have disappeared by week 3 following the operation and because of the technique of surgery, scarring should be minimal.
Complications
Some patients feel a numbness of the forehead, which can occasionally be permanent.
A collection of blood (haematoma) can collect underneath the forehead skin which may require another operation to be drained.
Infection is an infrequent complication.
